Dear Friends
We have just celebrated together as family the launch of a new beginning and it is not going to be an easy journey. Today we are also celebrating the confirmation and the sacrament of baptism as we welcome new family members in the body of Christ. New life always has its own teething challenges, you will know this as a parent. In all that we are not going to be discouraged, we will stand firm in our faith that as we receive the grace of new life and new beginnings our Good Shepherd will always be with us. As sheep in God’s pasture we are assured of His protection because we matter and we belong to Him. As we walk daily where do we turn to for help?
Max Lucado in his book Travelling Light says “How about turning into an old friend, the twenty third Psalm…”
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Loving Shepherd, may we always know and remember to turn to you for everything in our lives. Teach us to listen and to learn your voice. When you call us by our names let us respond accordingly.
Richest Blessings
