“SEE, I AM DOING A NEW THING!” Isaiah 43: 14-21
Dear Brothers & Sisters Remember we are still celebrating Christ resurrection and he has told us to move our eyes away from the tomb and turn to the risen Christ. For us today maybe our tomb that we have been staring at is our state of affairs as God’s family. And today we hear God saying turn and “See, I am doing a new thing!” What a perfect timing that during this period of Christ resurrection we are also coming together as a family to launch our new vision for God’s beloved bride, our church. We are also experiencing the resurrection. Isaiah brings the message from God to the children of Israel during a bleak period of their history. They were in captivity, they lost everything, they were homesick for the land and the blessings God had promised them. This is what the Lord says:
1. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
2. “See, I am doing a new thing!”
3. “I am making a way in the wilderness…” God is telling us to change our focus; we can’t dwell on our past. God was not condemning them for their past instead he was holding out the hand of hope. God clarifies our focus. God wants us to perceive and see possibilities that lie ahead. Do we see possibilities or problems? Let us commit ourselves to God’s plan. “I am making a way in the dessert and streams in the waste land.” God has already set into motion a new direction and a new purpose for your life, our life together as a church. The question is: Will we follow him or allow him to do a new thing?
To Him be the Glory
