Painting as an act of faith!

On Tuesday I was part of the youth program on painting the outsidewall of the Church as a reminder of a holiday club event that is upcoming.

I was given a small portion to paint the leaves from the branch in the garden. To give the leaves a shape and color. For some reason I became aware of how painting could be an act of faith. Though there are no words that defines pictures but through painting one could be
able to deduce the meaning.

I realized how my painting and ministry could go hand in hand. I learned two things from this short experience. First, God meets us in the act of creation. Secondly, art can be prophetic. It is John Evans who said “painting is occasionally agitated, sometimes at rest, but almost silence, a silence from which the radiance of the spirit grows”.

Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O Lord you are our Father, we are the clay and
you are our potter, we are all the work of your hand.”

It is my prayer that we paint with words through our worship and prayer, pictures of reconciliation, love and peace in our community.
