In the world where many people would do whatever they can to find fulfilling joy, the Psalmist in Psalm 122:1-2 wrote “I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.”
This is the Psalm of the Ascent where people would group to share all they had, to pray together, to share their trials and tribulations as they worship God.
What made David to be so glad is to be invited by worshipers other than being rejected because of what he had done before God. The people of God were so patient with him that they would not leave him out there dying in loneliness and emptiness but they asked him to come to God’s house.
The question is then how many people do we invite to worship and enjoy in God’s house with us. The fulfillment of the people’s joy in the house of the Lord is when they have brought someone, a soul to God. Such a soul seeker sensitive Christian is not only more blessed but fulfills the purpose of the church.
Prophet Jeremiah also records that when we have brought people to enjoy God in His house we also give joy to God.
Though we cannot be the same, we cannot be at the same spiritual level, God loves us that way. He is so loving to the weakest as He does with the perceived strongest and most gifted. We may be weak today or stronger but we all do not always stay at the same level of faith. However, God loves to see us in His house. Shall we all then say:
“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crops fail and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls ….Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior” (Habakkuk 3:17-18)
BLESSINGS ALWAYS
JACOB
